Since 1275, Hackney Church’s historic churchyard and burial ground has been an oasis of peace in the heart of Hackney. Today, we’re bringing life to the city with a thriving Apiary, Garden, Orchard and much more.

Our bees are currently busily producing Hackney Church honey. We are excited to see what else can be harvested from our Gardens and are currently working on a project with the aim of producing more fruit, vegetables, and flowers. As well as using flowers and foliage from our own Gardens we have begun working with other local growers to offer a floristry service with proceeds giving back to our Community Engagement Projects that we run.

Together with a team of outstanding volunteers, we are developing the Gardens across our locations into beautiful sanctuaries.Located opposite our Orchard, the historic Walled Garden at Hackney Church is a place of life and colour, a space for all to see the best of each season’s beauty. Also resident at Hackney Church is our Apiary based in the gated burial ground, here you can learn more of the History of Hackney and the stories of those who have shaped it. Closeby, the garden in Homerton is a peaceful sanctuary tucked away from busy streets, it is an ideal place to rest and sit in the quiet. Our heart is to see each space become places of beauty, bringing people together to cultivate and create whilst building connection and community. We would love for you to join us!
