As part of our vision, St John-at-Hackney Church, the iconic Parish Church of Hackney, has undergone a multi-million pound restoration project supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund in collaboration with minimalist architect John Pawson CBE (Abbey of Our Lady of Nový Dvůr/Design Museum), acclaimed visual artist Es Devlin and Thomas Ford & Partners. This work has improved the access to a much loved community heritage asset and created a breathtaking cathedral of creativity to be enjoyed for generations to come.
A stone’s throw from Hackney Central station, Hackney Church provides an impressive location for a wide range of events such as live concerts, film shoots, parties, receptions and rehearsals, and can easily be transformed into a fully seated space for award ceremonies, dinners, talks and conferences. We have an experienced event management and support team, multiple private hire rooms, onsite catering facilities, fully equipped and stocked bars, a concert-ready state-of-the-art d&b audio system and industry-standard AV and lighting provisions.
Since 2010, Hackney Church has welcomed major artists such as Robbie Williams, Florence Welch, Jamie XX, Benjamin Clementine, Bloc Party, Ed Sheeran and Emeli Sandé alongside . As a Music Venue’s Trust and Independent Venue Week affiliated venue, we look forward to hosting some of the world’s finest creators and innovators whilst supporting local artistic endeavour in our stunning Grade II* listed building.
