Sundays

We gather across four different services on a Sunday to hang-out, worship together, hear life-changing teaching from the Bible and grow as friends. We are a vibrant, diverse and growing church in the heart of East London. Explore the different services below to see which service might work for you.

 

  • 9.00: Choral Eucharist

    Spacious, majestic and prayerful, join us to start your Sunday with our stunning Choral Eucharist, with classical music led by our choir. We welcome Christians of all denominations to join us for Holy Communion.

  • 10.00: Informal Family Service

    Grab a coffee, food from the breakfast bar and enjoy this informal family service including worship led by a band, life-changing teaching from the Bible, and ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit. There are dedicated Young Life groups, led by a fantastic team of trained helpers, as well as a Hey Baby lounge where parents of very young children can join the service by live link.  Doors open at 9.45am.

  • 11.30: Informal Family Service

    Grab a coffee, food from the breakfast bar and enjoy this informal family service including worship led by a band, life-changing teaching from the Bible, and ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit. There are dedicated Young Life groups, led by a fantastic team of trained helpers, as well as a Hey Baby lounge where parents of very young children can join the service by live link. Doors open at 11.15am.

  • 18.00 Informal Service

    Meet new people, make friends and connect with young people from across East London as we gather for our evening service, featuring extended times of worship led by a band, life-changing teaching from the Bible, and ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit.

    Doors open at 5.30pm: grab a fresh coffee from our fully stocked Cafe. Afterwards we head to the Brewery together.

Hey Baby!

Monday morning baby and toddler hangout during school term time. We meet from 10am to 12pm, with Climpson & Sons coffee, music activities and great conversation. Friendly, Fun & Free. Ages 0-4. Children must be accompanied at all times.

Autumn term: 16 September – 16 December. Closed for half term 21st October.

Rhythms Prayer Meeting

Tuesday morning from 8am-9am during term times for an hour of informal prayer and worship. A great way to kick-start the day and to grow in your prayer life.

Wednesday Communion

Join us for a short service of Holy Communion on Wednesday mornings at 10am at St Luke at Hackney Church, followed by tea and coffee.

Lighthouse

Lighthouse cares for vulnerable people in our community. In partnership with award-winning Moro Restaurant we run a drop-in lunch on a Wednesday from 12pm-3pm. On a Tuesday morning we run a Foodbank and Credit Union. We’d love your support.

Young Life

Young Life is our dynamic and fun-packed kids ministry for 0-11 year olds. Every Sunday during our family services we offer Hey Baby group for 0-3’s, Young Life One for 3-7 year olds and Young Life Two for 7-11 year olds!

Youth

For 11-18 year olds we run fun, engaging and thought provoking Younger Youth and Older Youth groups during our family services. A space where young people can thrive and be equipped for a life of faith!

Students

Hackney Church Students is the place to be! From Hangouts, to Connects and Sunday Services. Young adults studying all over London gather together, building lifelong friendships, growing deeper in their faith, and cheering each other on. We would love to welcome you into the family, find out more here.

Brewery

We’ve recently partnered to open a ground-breaking new church Brewery which supports our Lighthouse Project.

Bee Team

Meet the Hackney Chuch bees! As a church we believe in playing our part in the flourishing of the city. Our Hackney Church bees are a little sign of that, click below to see how you can get involved!

Garden

Hackney Church is set in over a dozen acres of land right in the heart of Hackney. Our Garden Crew have planted a community orchard as a sign of our vision to bring life to the city.

Schools

St John & St James, is our outstanding church primary school, which has recently been ranked in the top ten performing primaries in London, and The Urswick School,our thriving secondary school. If you’re interested in finding out about church places, contact the Young Life team here.

Hackney Bells

St John at Hackney’s Bell Tower is one to the major centres for bell ringing in East London, as well as a central feature of the worship life of the church. There are a growing number of people getting involved, and all are welcome.
